Referee Physical Performance Test

    Class 1 Regular Season

Class 1 MPA Regional and State Finals

Class 1 Referees:  REGULAR SEASON, PRELIMINARY, 1/4 FINAL and SEMI-FINAL GAMES

REGIONAL AND STATE LEVEL PLAYOFF REFEREES AND ASSISTANT REFEREES:  EFFECTIVE JUNE 2020

The Maine Association of Soccer Officials Executive Board approved a revised physical performance test at the April 2020 meeting. The existing four event test currently used for class one officials has been replaced with a more modern testing protocol for all MASO officials that will be serving as referee and assistant referees at the Maine Principals' Association regional final and state final games.

The physical performance test for MASO /MPA regional and state games is identical to the current test for US Soccer grade 6 referees and NISOA referees. MASO will gladly accept the results of those tests administered by those organizations. They are exempt from taking the MASO physical performance test as shown below.

There are two events in this physical performance test. All testing requirements and criteria are independent of age and gender.

MASO may retest members who do not meet the minimum requirements of the physical performance test at the direction of the MASO Director of Referee Development.
